The Ministry of Energy unveiled a new plan that would bring the percent of the energy produced in Israel by alternative means to between 25-30% by 2030. The current plan calls for the country to reach 17% by 2030. According to Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz, the advances Israel has been currently making in the field allow it to move forward more rapidly. In 2018, only 4% of the electricity produced in Israel was from alternative sources. By the end of 2020, that number is expected to rise to 10%, which will make growing to 25-30% by 2030 very attainable. Â
