Akamai the US based content distributor(CDN) and security firm has purchased Tel Aviv based Guardicore. The purchase price is $600 million. Current stockholders and employees will also receive the current cash balances of the company. Guardicore has developed a micro-segmentation solution is designed to limit user access to only those applications that are authorized to communicate with each other. By denying communication as the default, the threat surface and risk exposure are drastically reduced, thereby limiting the spread of malware and protecting the flow of enterprise data across the network. This protection extends beyond the data center to the cloud, including bare metal, virtual machines and containers.
To date the Israeli company has raised $110 million with the latest round in 2019 $60 million at a value of $230 million.
