Boeing has signed an agreement with Tactical Robotics to jointly develop vertical take-off and landing aircraft. Tactical Robotics has developed Fancroft Rotors, which are rotors that are placed inside ducts. In addition, Tactical Robotics has already developed a prototype called “Cormorant” that is approximately the size of a Humvee and is able to both take off and land vertically. As part of the joint agreement the partners will develop a plan to explore marketing and production of the Cormorant for specialized markets.
