Teva Has a Rare Good Day

Teva Pharmaceutical received excellent news today, when it was reported the company had reached a tentative agreement with the State of Ohio for its part in the Opioid crisis. The settlement was for $10 million, a sum much below the expectations of analysts. The announcement caused Teva stock on Wall Street to jump up.

In the meantime, Teva revealed the availability this in the United States of a generic version of the Epi-Pen for young children. The product will be sold at the wholesale level, for $300 for a two-pack, that will translate into $300 per epic pen. The pricing remains very high compared to the price of the same product ten years ago, and shows the limits of generic drugs in bringing about a lowering of prices.
